Sometimes a campus has to cancel an on-campus class (for example on a public holiday) or move it to another day or time. The portal always shows your timetable as it now stands, and tells you what changed so you are not caught out.
Where you see a change
| Place | What it shows |
|---|---|
| Sent to every student of the batch when a class is cancelled or moved. | |
| Notifications | Class cancelled or Class moved, for example "Class on Mon, 12 Oct moved to Wed, 14 Oct · 4:00 PM – 6:00 PM", with the reason. |
| On-campus classes | A Change to your classes box on the course's card, listing each coming change and its reason. |
| The course's page | The same box at the top. The timetable and calendar show a cancelled class as Cancelled and a moved class on its new day and time. |
| Dashboard | Coming up and Next class skip cancelled classes and show moved ones at their new time. |
Only coming changes are listed: once the day has passed, the note disappears and the class simply shows in your past classes as it happened.
What it means for attendance and your certificate
- A cancelled class is taken out of the count. If your certificate needs 75% attendance, it is 75% of the classes actually held or planned, not counting cancelled ones.
- A moved class counts on its new day. Go to the campus at the new time; your teacher marks attendance then.
- Class reminders by email follow the change: no reminder is sent for a cancelled class, and a moved class is reminded at its new time.
FAQ
The class was moved to a time I can't make.
Tell your campus or write to your instructor from your Inbox. One missed class rarely puts a certificate out of reach; the class's page shows how many you still need.
I went to the campus and the class didn't happen, but nothing says it was cancelled.
Contact your campus. They can record the class as cancelled so it does not count against your attendance.
Can a live Zoom class be moved?
Your instructor can change a Zoom class's time on its page. Check the class's page and Announcements for the new time.
